Christian heads our German Banking & Finance and leads the German Restructuring & Insolvency practice. He is also the German liaison partner for our offices in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Christian has almost 20 years of experience in advising on crisis, in- and out of court restructurings, (cross-border) insolvencies and on distressed M&A transactions. Furthermore, he has a long-standing experience in dealing with situations of crisis and insolvencies in (cross-border) supply chains and with financial restructurings.
Christian regularly acts for well-known insolvency administrators, debtor-side and creditor-side for international clients from the automotive, aviation, real estate, and private equity sectors.
Christian is a member of INSOL International, NIVD (Neue Insolvenzrechtsvereinigung Deutschlands e.V.), co-chair at Sanierungsforum Mitteldeutschland e.V. and was a Member of the Executive Committee of the International Insolvency Institute’s NextGen Leadership Program (2022-2024).
The German Restructuring & Insolvency practice has recently been recognised as National Tier 2 in the Best Law Firms Germany 2027 ranking. Christian himself has been recognized and recommended by German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche as one of the top lawyers for restructuring in Germany subsequently in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 and by Handelsblatt/BestLawyers as leading individual for restructuring and insolvency in Germany in 2023, 2024, 2025 and most recently in 2026.

- Advising a German automotive supplier (debtor-in-possession) on the sale of the business operations to a Turkish investor
- Representing the English administrators in the worldwide insolvency and restructuring proceedings of an automotive supplier in the areas of enforcement and defense of claims and on the sale of the business operations
- Advising an automotive supplier on the stabilization and continuation of the business relationship in the insolvency of a sub-supplier
- Advising several debtor-in-possessions on the cross-border links and the treatment of foreign subsidiaries during the insolvency proceedings
- Advising a PropTech-company on its refinancing and subsequent insolvency preparation
