Eversheds Sutherland launches Konexo in the US

Eversheds Sutherland today announced the further global expansion of Konexo to provide alternative legal and compliance services in the US, under the leadership of Carmen L. Brun, who previously practiced in Eversheds Sutherland’s Securities Enforcement and Litigation practice.

Ms. Brun is responsible for the development and delivery of Konexo’s strategy and services in the US and works closely with Graham Richardson, Head of Konexo, on coordinating global matters and overall strategy. Konexo offerings in the US include litigation services; investigation, due diligence and regulatory research services; contract analysis; commercial contracting; financial services investigations and remediation; interim resourcing; consulting; and global legal entity management - with plans to expand and diversify service offerings in tandem with client needs.

“Eversheds Sutherland clients are already working with Konexo to achieve efficiencies and the peace of mind that comes with working with an established and respected global law practice,” said Mark D. Wasserman, Co-CEO of Eversheds Sutherland. “And now with the added economic pressures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the need for innovative, effective legal solutions is more pressing than ever. I am thrilled that Carmen is leading Konexo operations in the US. Her background with large cross-border investigations and with in-house teams gives her particular insight into clients’ needs and identifying ways that our offerings will be helpful to them.”

Lee Ranson, Co-CEO of Eversheds Sutherland, added, “Today’s launch is the next step in our ambitious plans for Konexo. The past year has seen impressive growth and success across Europe and Asia, establishing a strong platform from which to expand into the US and thereby create a truly global offering.”

In June 2019, Eversheds Sutherland leveraged existing teams in the UK and Asia to launch Konexo with plans to expand to the US shortly thereafter. With the ongoing global COVID-19 crisis, the firm anticipates an even higher demand for alternative legal services powered by a top global legal brand.

“The Konexo team’s extensive experience in a wide array of legal managed services will relieve overburdened in-house teams and generate greater efficiencies, allowing our clients to focus on internal strategic-level work,” said Ms. Brun. “Our offering stands out through the innovative use of people, processes, and technology to provide our clients with customized, flexible solutions. I am excited to be leading this new venture in the US and working with Graham as Konexo expands into the US market.”

“Konexo has made huge strides in a short time, and as we celebrate our ‘first anniversary’ this month, I am incredibly proud of how far we have come. This is an exciting new phase, and I look forward to working with Carmen and the team to best service our clients,” said Mr. Richardson. “As the impact of COVID-19 ripples across global economies and business communities, there will undoubtedly be challenging times ahead. With presence in the UK, Asia and now the US, we can draw upon our local market knowledge to create bespoke solutions to support our clients’ changing business needs in the short and long term.”

The US launch comes on the heels of Konexo’s launch and significant growth globally last year. With several offices in the UK, and with the opening of new offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur in 2019, Konexo has already established a presence around the world. “We work hard to be where our clients need us to be – and to provide what they need us to provide – and that’s apparent in the moves we are making to grow and refine our service offerings in the US and globally,” said Mr. Wasserman.
