We advised Merus Power on its EPC supply agreement with ExilionAugust 25, 2026 Eversheds Sutherland acted as legal advisor to Merus Power Oyj, a Finnish technology company listed on Nasdaq First North Growth Market Finland, in an EPC supply agreement signed with Exilion for the delivery of a 20 MW / 41 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) to the Varevaara wind farm in Tervola. The agreement also covers a hybrid controller developed by Merus Power, together with maintenance and lifecycle services, with Merus Power responsible for the project on a turnkey basis. The project is the first battery energy storage system built in Finland to enhance the operation of an existing wind farm connected under Fingrid's older grid code. The hybrid controller included in the agreement allows the battery storage and the wind farm to be operated as a single, coordinated unit, significantly improving the profitability of the older wind power plant. The agreement, with a value exceeding EUR 8 million, was signed on 30 June 2026 and is expected to be delivered to the customer in autumn 2027. This is the third battery storage project Merus Power has delivered to Exilion, and builds on a longer series of BESS EPC agreements on which we have advised Merus Power. The matter was led by partner Henrik Sandholm. Key contacts
