Eversheds Sutherland enhances patent and life sciences capabilities with appointment of new IP PartnerSeptember 13, 2022 Eversheds Sutherland has welcomed IP Partner, Indradeep Bhattacharya, to its Company Commercial practice group. Indradeep joins the global law firm from Jones Day, where he was Counsel. His focus is primarily on complex patent litigation matters, and non-contentious and regulatory advice within the life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices. He also has particular experience advising on high-value IP and technology disputes across a range of industry sectors. During his career, Indradeep has developed a strong life sciences regulatory practice, providing advice on issues throughout the full life-cycle of a product – from market access for pharmaceuticals and medical devices to pricing and general compliance requirements. He has assisted clients on investigations and interactions with regulators, including the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). In addition, Indradeep works closely with corporate teams on various commercial IP advisory and transactional matters, and conducts intricate patent and technology reviews in connection with high profile international transactions. His arrival follows hot on the heels of that of IP Partner, David Wilkinson who was appointed head of Eversheds Sutherland’s UK IP Practice earlier this year. David Wilkinson, Partner and UK Head of IP, Eversheds Sutherland, commented: “Indradeep’s appointment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to further enhancing our global IP capability. His arrival not only bolsters our UK offering but underpins the technical excellence and high quality services our clients have come to expect from us. I’m thrilled to welcome him to the team.” Emmanuel Ronco, Partner and Co-Chair of Eversheds Sutherland’s global IP practice, commented: “Indradeep’s in-depth experience and sector knowledge makes him a key hire for our practice. I am delighted to welcome him to Eversheds Sutherland. His expertise in international patent advisory and litigation as well as the life science field naturally fits in our IP growth strategy. We all very much look forward to working with him to further our global offering to clients.”
Indradeep Bhattacharya, Partner at Eversheds Sutherland, commented: “This is an exciting time to be joining the fast-growing and ambitious team at Eversheds Sutherland. I am very much looking forward to working with and supporting their impressive client base, as well as drawing on my skills to help provide our clients with a full and deep understanding of all areas of the market.” This latest appointment, in addition to a number of international hires made throughout the last 12 months, illustrates the ongoing ambitions of the practice, and fully complements the firm’s wider international IP offering.
